2024–2025 Winners
- Louisiana State University Food Science Club:
Led an educational tour of Louisiana’s crawfish industry with visits to local processing facilities and the LSU AgCenter Rice Research Station.
- Iowa State University Food Science Club:
Organized a spring break industry tour to Louisville, KY, where students explored nine food companies and connected with the local culture.
- Cornell University Food Science Club:
Hosted the Food Innovation Challenge, a two-week competition where students created healthier baked products using sponsor-provided ingredients.
- University of Alberta Food Science Club:
Surveyed members and, in partnership with the Career Centre, hosted an event on career management and networking to support students’ transition to the workforce.
Awards
Student groups are encouraged to apply for funding to support special events that might otherwise be cost prohibitive. A minimum of six (6) grants of up to $250 each (between $50 to $250 USD) will be awarded annually.
Eligibility
A. The student group must be an official IFTSA Chapter and complete the minimum Chapter requirements.
B. Chapter officers must be IFT student members in good standing.
C. The faculty advisor must be an IFT member in good standing for the current academic year.
D. There must be proof of matching funds from another source.
